RCB Kids Ministry exists to disciple children through relationships, teaching them the full counsel of the Word of God; furthermore, our desire is to partner with parents to help families know Christ and grow in Him. Each Sunday in RCB Kids, children (ages 3 mos. to 5th grade) are taught Biblical truths through worship songs, Bible stories, games, and crafts. We encourage children and families to memorize Scripture, learn catechism through song, and talk about Jesus throughout the course of the week. If you are interested in resources for your family, let us know! We’d be happy to come along side you and help with ideas for family devotionals and intentional discipleship in your home.
GOD'S WORD: Our goal is to instill in our children the full counsel of God’s Word, to walk children systematically through Scripture while keeping our teaching Christ-centered and gospel-centered (not man-centered).
RELATIONSHIPS: Our goal is to reflect God’s love by building relationships with our children. We love them through our attitudes, by getting down on their level, and by getting to know them and reflecting God’s gracious character to them.
PARENTS: Our goal is to partner with parents in discipleship through family devotionals, building bridges to Missional Community Groups, through events, and constant communication with parents.
WHERE DO I TAKE MY KIDS ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?
All children should be signed in at the check-in desk, which is located on your left immediately as you enter the building. There is clear signage to direct you where to go. You may begin checking in your kids at 9:45 a.m. Greeters will direct you to the desk, where you will sign in your child. Currently RCB Kids is divided up into three classes:
RCB Nursery: New Born - 2 1/2 years old
RCB Littles: Pre-school - Kindergarten
RCB Bigs: 1st - 5th Grade
At the check-in desk, our friendly RCB Kids volunteer will help direct your child to the appropriate class.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Children from birth to potty training should have a diaper bag or backpack that is clearly labeled. This bag should include plenty of diapers or pull-ups, a weather-appropriate change of clothes, snacks (for children with allergies), sippy cups or bottles that are clearly labeled, and any formula or breast milk that may be needed. Feel free to use a sticky label at the check-in desk if you need to label any of your child’s supplies.
WHO RECEIVES SNACKS IN RCB KIDS?
All children in RCB Kids will be offered a snack of either animal crackers or GoldFish and water. If your child has a specific food allergy or dietary restrictions that keep them from eating the provided snacks, please bring an individual snack and give it to their teacher upon check-in. For babies, please bring a bottle along with instructions for when to give it (if required), or feel free to make use of one of our rocking chairs in the Nursery area for nursing.
WHAT SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES DO YOU EMPLOY?
We perform background checks on every volunteer. Volunteers receive regular training and they wear an RCB Kids name tag. For security purposes, parents may not enter the RCB Kids area without being escorted by a volunteer.
WHAT ABOUT HEALTH CONCERNS?
We have a 24 hour well policy, which means that children must be free of fever, vomiting, rash, pink eye, head lice, or illness for at least 24 hours before entering the children’s area.
***Please notify us upon check-in if your child has any allergies or special needs.***
WHAT ABOUT OLDER CHILDREN?
We believe it is important for children to witness their parents worshipping Christ and studying their Bible. Therefore, children ages 11 and up attend church with their parents. As Restoration Church Bryan continues to grow, we look forward to expanding our ministries to youth by offering small group Bible studies, programs and events for pre-teens and teens.
The Gospel Project - this is the current curriculum used by RCB Kids. The Gospel Project® is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for Kids, Students, and Adults that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ.
